Speaker Profile
Background
I’ve been interested in both writing and biblical archaeology since my teens. In recent years I’ve been able to bring these two interests together by developing informative talks in archaeology and complementing them with fictional accounts that bring the people and the times to life. My publications include Facetime, a short story that takes place in the time of King David; and By the Waters of Babylon, a novel that follows a twelve-year-old girl named Ya’el as she’s deported to Babylonia following Nebuchadnezzar’s destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BCE. The sequel, Light of Exile, was released in the summer of 2022. It takes place two generations later, when Cyrus the Great allows the people of Judah to return and rebuild the Temple.
My professional background is in technology marketing and data analytics. My academic background is in Linguistics. I speak Hebrew, French and Italian. Other interests include quantum physics, Celtic mythology and meteorology. Research for my novels has added ancient Mesopotamian history and culture to this diverse and quirky list.
